The
Tollagården cottages in Gesunda are situated 16 km southwest of Mora by lake
Siljan's west beach. It is beautifully situated in an area with the big forest
"behind your back" and approximately 50 metres to the water of lake Siljan,
where you can have a nice swim. There are 11 timber cottages, 4-12 beds, in
genuine Dalarna style - with leaded panes among other things. The cottages are
modern equipped, WC, shower colour TV - some with an open fireplace and its own
sauna, equipped for self-catering - the only thing the guest has to bring - are
sheets and towels. Sauna and laundry equipment are available within the
premises. Well stocked food store 1 kilometer from Tollagården.
There is a pond with trouts for those who like fishing. Lake Siljan and other nice forest lakes offers other good fishing opportunities - boats are available for renting.
Tollagården is the perfect starting point for excursions to famous
places in Dalarna. The Gesundaberget with a peak of 514 metres, is situated 2
kilometres from the cottages, and is offering very good downhill skiing
facilities. There is a brethtaking view over the county of Dalarna from the peak
cottage. By the valley station there is an inn with room for 200 guests. Nearby
Santa Claus has his home at the "SANTA WORLD". Wintertime you can ski downhill
and cross country ski in tracks of different lengths - there are tracks with
floodlight in the village. During summertime there are different hiking paths
and nice cycletracks.
Many facilities for open air activities of different kinds are possible, picking of berries and mushroom included.
